Do you have anyone in your life who has been your mentor? A Mentor is someone who allows you to see the divine spark within yourself. Shawn Hitchcock has rightly said” A mentor empowers a person to see a possible future and believe that it can obtained”. For myself, the person who empowered me and impacted me in my career and personal life is none other than Mrs. Mamta V, Bhatnagar, the Director and Founder Principal of Manav Sthali School, Delhi, India. She completely revolutionized the education system and has been honored time and again with numerous prestigious awards and citations for all her amazing contribution in the field of education.
Mrs. Bhatnagar has been a true inspiration for me who has always taught me to have confidence in myself and in my dreams. My relationship with her is a long journey of thirty -two years both as a student and as an employee. Manav Sthali school had been my Alma mater, and my first place of job as an educator. Myself being an ex- student , Mrs. Mamta V. Bhatanagar gave me a wonderful opportunity to serve the prestigious institution. She is the one who always advised me to be positive in my life. It was her motivation and inspiration that endeavored my life and groomed me to be a sound professional. It would be impossible to count all the ways that she has helped me to pursue my career here in America. It was very hard for me to take up this decision of leaving my Alma mater and moving to America. But it was only because of her relentless support and guidance that I was able to grow professionally. Indubitably Mrs. Bhatnagar has been my role- model as she helped me to navigate the often choppy seas of an academic career.
Mrs. Mamata V. Bhatnagar played a great role in sculpting my personality and what I am today. She has always been an exemplary and visionary mentor who always encouraged me to step forward in life with a smile thus making everyone proud. Although I don’t work in India anymore, but I still remember the countless hours I spent with her getting enthralled and motivated by her words of wisdom. Most importantly, she taught me life lessons; life lessons that helped me succeed as an educator and have a successful future.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Mrs. Mamta V. Bhatnagar who is worthy of emulation, and a true embodiment of strength, beauty, intelligence, and talent. Thank you for teaching me all the valuable lessons about life, friends, success and self- worth. I only hope that I can return the favor sometime in the future and will be privileged to repay her generosity by using her example to develop my own skills as a mentor.
